I asked my son what he'd like to give as a Valentine gift to his classmates, he said, "Bubbles, I think they would love it!" We got the bubbles and I thought I was off the hook from being "creative" this year...but, my son's teacher mentioned that they can't give out any candy or liquid items. Awwww, why did she have to say that??? So we went to return the bubbles and got pencils instead.
Here's what I've been wanting to make since last year, but just kept putting it off because I thought it would take long to put together. It took me about two and a half hours total, not as bad as I thought it would be. I was inspired by Janet Wakeland for this project.
Here's her blog with the directions. I found it easier to use the
Crop-A-Dile instead of the whole puncher, especially if you're making a lot of them! Everything else, I followed to the Janet's directions. I made one for the teacher and got her a cute little solar flower that dances with solar light. I put her gift in a
tote bag I made awhile back.
First, I scored a 12x12 paper, cut and folded them. Then, I cut all the pieces to make the bug's head. Here's a visual of my process:
Don't forget,
Sale-A-Bration is still on til March 31, so happy shopping!
Happy Valentine's Day!
